Twino – Platform Introduction
Twino belongs amongst the largest P2P lending portals in Europe. To date, over EUR 800 million has been invested on the portal. In May 2021, there were around 25,000 active investors on the platform and an average interest rate of 10.3% p.a. The offer on Twino consists of short-term loans up to 3 months (85% of the offer) in combination with a buyback guarantee. Manual investing is possible, but offers no added value to AI. Most loans are provided with only a minimum of information, so the portal and investment works best through Auto Invest.
Compared to other portals, Twino has the disadvantage of low transparency. Together with the Mintos platform, Twino has played an important role in spreading P2P lending across Europe, and to this day they have a significant share in the volume of non-bank consumer loans financed through peer-to-peer.
In June 2021 77% of loans are current, 18% of loans are delayed and the rest, approximately 5% are in default. This does not apply to an offer based on a buyback guarantee, however, these figures provide relatively clear feedback on the quality of the marketplace. An interesting option is the possibility of maintaining an account in EUR or GBP.
